"Inspecting Carol" is a comedy written by the Tony-winning theater director Daniel J. Sullivan. The play is set in the Midwest, where a regional theater company is gearing up for its annual production of "A Christmas Carol". With their funding about to be cut, they must convince a government inspector that they are deserving of an a National Endowment for the Arts grant, an effort that results in an outlandish "modernization" of the tale that allows the NEA inspector - himself a wannabe actor - to get into the act.
